Satoshi Nakamoto

A question on the minds of the entire crypto community: who is Bitcoin founder Satoshi Nakamoto? And will we ever find out if he is still alive? Suspicions that he has died are growing stronger, but no one knows écht. The mysterious creator and founder of Bitcoin still hides under this wonderful pseudonym. Still, there is no chance that we will ever discover the true identity of this genius.

Bitcoin founder likely to be anonymous forever

January 3, 2022 is a special date. That’s when the Bitcoin network will exist for exactly 13 years, after founder Satoshi Nakamoto launched the protocol in 2008. Despite the fact that his identity is not known – maybe it’s a she, by the way – Satoshi has long been the most famous and mysterious figure in the crypto community. Roughly ten years ago (2011), Satoshi permanently logged out of the network and it is likely that we will never find out the true identity of one of the all-time greatest geniusës of our time.

Over the years, several attempts have been made to find out who is behind Satoshi Nakamoto. These attempts have been virtually unsuccessful. Many people are convinced that the Bitcoin founder has died, as nothing at all has been heard from him since 2011.

Hal Finney

The fact that Satoshi Nakamoto has not been heard from since 2011 is believed by some to be a direct result of health problems. Much of the crypto community is pretty sure that ex-programmer Hal Finney is the most likely candidate. He suffered from the muscle disease ALS and died in 2014. He was the second person ever to be involved with Bitcoin and many speculate that he is the one hiding the pen name Satoshi Nakamoto.

Money of million bitcoins untouched

There is another indication that the Bitcoin founder is no longer among us. It is common knowledge that the founder himself owns some’1 million bitcoins. At the time of writing, this asset has a value of some’n 60 billion dollars and has not been touched until today. In fact, the Bitcoins have never moved either and are still at the same address.

False claims

Util now, there are plenty of people who claim to be the widely acclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto. The controversiële Australian tech entrepreneur Craig Wright is the most famous example. Wright claims to own the 1 million Satoshi Bitcoins, but his claim is dismissed by experts as complete nonsense. Read here more about Craig Wright.

This week another tech billionaire, Paypal co-founder Thiel, claimed that he is convinced he met Satoshi Nakamoto a few times. As such, he knows where he would look for the Bitcoin founder. Read more about that in this article.
