About 1,000 international equities and 1,500 exchange traded products such as ETFs, ETCs and ETNs are traded on Xetra.
Xetra was one of the first global electronic trading systems; it has grown to account for the majority of all stock transactions on the Frankfurt Exchange (FRA). The FRA is one of the oldest exchanges in the world and includes major indices, such as the DAX, the VDAX and the Eurostoxx 50. FRA hours are on weekdays from 9:00 am to 5:30 pm.
The trading technology of Xetra replaced the IBIS trading platform on 28 November 1997.
Through its Deutsche Börse Cash Market business section, Deutsche Börse AG now operates two trading venues at the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
